Random Stuff

I spent a good part of the day running errands. There are days when it seems like no matter what I do or how hard I try, I just can't get to the sewing machine to work on what I want to. Oh well. Just got to go with it. Tomorrow I have an appointment at UNR with the small business development department. Hope to gain some valuable information and ask lots of questions. There is so much to learn. Something fun that happened is many new tags went to press today. Yay! These are fun, lots of different sizes. Can't to hang them on my bags. My favorite one is the earring holder. Two flowers side by side with the middles of the flowers for the posts. Totally fun and cute! After all was done, I decided to work at 6pm but was hit by a sudden urge to go lay down. Looks like I won't be getting much done until tomorrow. :)

New Leather Bags

I finished this new bag recently. I am very proud of this new style and design. I am currently working on another one in red, black and gray. Hope that it will come out as nice as this one did. I have multiple colors lined up in the same style. Will also be working on more small zipper coin purses with the same design elements.

Saw this cool butterfly this morning on my honeysuckle vines so I just had to get it's photograph. So gorgeous! Its fun to see these guys dancing in air together. Saw 3 of them all together on the patio the other day.

Back to work. I've got lots of sewing to do!

4th of July Weekend

Its been a busy couple weeks. I was at the West Street Market last Friday at the Opening night of Art+Music night featuring some great bands by The Holland Project.

Here is a slideshow of the event http://www.uniquehandbags.net/Galleries/Shows/

After the event, I went to Colfax for the afternoon to visit family before heading back home. I recently added 4 new leather and vinyl zipper coin purses to my Etsy shop. One is shipping off to Canada today, yay!

I'd like to focus more on making some larger bags using this technique of cutting the flower petals in a more organic way.
I am having fun experimenting and getting to know my new machine. I am finally getting some use out of it. I cant believe that I ever went without it. I love my old home Singer, but what a big difference my new Bernina Industrial makes!

New Wristlets

Some newly made bags. All posted in my main handbag shop today.
The black and cream ultrasuede wristlet is my favorite. Its super soft and size is a lot like a wallet. I will be making some in all leather and also some in vinyl very soon.

Small Zippered Coin Purse

A small zippered coin purse was just listed in my Etsy shop.
I used some poly-tape for the stems and finished the edges with a zigzag stitch. Handcut leather flowers with rivets were secured to the top of each stem.

Custom Wristlets

I just completed 6 new custom zippered wristlets for a shop in Portland, Oregon. Now I can put all my focus into getting ready for the Candy Dance in Genoa. I am so excited about participating in this event! I have so much work to do.. I will be sharing each new item with you here as I create it.

Many of my wristlets can be viewed in a slideshow here.
