Artist fabric collage

Even though I had every intention of working on the drawings of some bag ideas I posted on Monday, I still felt this urge to just play and do some crazy stitching that I just love. Not sure why I don't do this more often, because I just love this type of work. I have many boring fabrics and always like to think that there is a purpose for them. In this case I am just using this red fabric as a background and working over the top of it.
Here are a couple of progress pics with a picture of the fabric before.I took recycled dyed dryer sheets and fused them to the background and I cut out pieces of leather to form shapes and letters and attached with sewing machine, thread painting randomly over the tops. I will be constructing a bag with this so check back for updates to see the finished piece.
