Scrap patchwork tote

Progress! I just started this today. I am already excited at how this is going to come out. Nice big bag of scrap leather and upholstery. Every time I have a project I throw the scraps in here. It works out really nice for projects like this one. I love this bag of scraps. Isn't it beautiful!!!

I never thought I would have the patience to make tiny little squares but they are really fun to make once you get the squares all layed out and in place. Then I get to sew them each down individually,Yay! The work in this one is going to be the piecing of the squares first since they are all different sizes.

Sunburst Creation

I like how this came out. This is the first time that I used fabric scraps in this way. I think its very artsy and unique. I can guarantee not many people will have one of these. One of a kind. The colors are fabulous and I love the frayed look. I will definately be exploring this technique further. I love flowers so I tend to incorporate them in my work a lot. My favorite thing about leather is the way you can cut it with scissors and just sew it down. The raw edges don't fray and will last forever. Leather also feels so good. This case has lots of texture so you will want to feel it as well as show it off.

New Years Fireworks Bag

I am thrilled with how this bag came out. A Very colorful and wild work of art. Amazing from looking at the mountain of scraps and color yesterday that "this" came out of "that". My daughter said the mountain of scraps looked like an art salad. My husband says the purse reminded him of fireworks, so that is what I will call it. We are all creatives in this family so its helpful at times to get their opinion and other times we don't agree on things as far as design goes. But we are all different and that makes it all fun and interesting. So I am ready to post it on Etsy. Hope you all have a very Happy New Year! I think that for this year I am going to focus more on my crazy collage art. I think its going to be a very good year!

Not my Thing

Well, here is the creation that I came up with. Makes me want a new sewing machine just thinking of all the things I could make if I had a bigger and better machine. I had fun with this but I don't think that wallets are my thing.
This one is going in my sale items. So far, my favorite things to make are IPod cases and random purses. I think I will make another I Pod case tomorrow. I was thinking of trying out some of my handmade fabric on one and see how it goes with some crazy stitching. I love it! Its so much fun and I just love the bright colors.

Inspiration

Sometimes inspiration comes from no where and at times it doesn't come at all. When it comes easy I get excited and when it doesn't I just have gotten used to just pushing things aside and working on something different as not to waste time or energy. This time my inspiration just came from left over pieces of scrap leather and fabric that I used to make my niece a purse for Christmas. The colors are beautiful. They deserve another life!
